Meet Al Subera

Hello

Thanks for visiting the website. I was my first “commercial”

client when I photographed 4-H projects with a Kodak Brownie

Camera in the late 50s. A lot of time has passed and I am still

taking pictures but without the Brownie film camera.

I'm not the "new kid on the block" in the world of photography.

The first formal photographic training I had was with the FBI,

Chicago Police Department and the Wisconsin State Crime  Lab

during my 18 1/2-year stint in law enforcement. That was so much

fun that I opened a small studio in my home northwest of Madison

and began photographing weddings and doing commercial

photography until we opened a studio in Ashland.  Patty and I

sold that in May 2002 and currently work from our home near

Winter, Wisconsin. All photography is at the location of your choice.

Patty (my wife of over 30 years) retired from teaching in the Associated Degree Nursing Program at WITC. She currently works at the Lac Courte Oreilles Community Health Center, is a master gardener, and runs a small business,
Winter Soaps. In addition to all that, she keeps an on eye me and Sammy, our orange and white cat. Everything in Sam’s world is a cat toy including some things on my desk. He is very proficient at disconnecting the computer.

Folks from Hayward, Park Falls, Butternut, Mellen, Ashland, Winter, Ladysmith and Cable are kind enough to allow me to photograph for them. Portraits for families, high school seniors, family reunions, school related photography (sports teams, school pictures and proms), and commercial work are the main focus of the business. Copy and restoration of old photographs is also a special passion of mine.

We can work together to make lasting photographic treasures for you and your family. Please take a little time to look through the website.
